The Device

You’ll get one of the world’s smallest mobile EFTPOS devices that connects to Telstra 3G. The device is completely mobile and comes to you fully set-up and ready to go (you just need to switch it on!). You will be provided with a wall charger and a car charger. Paper rolls are free and available from Live taxi, order via My Web, or call 1300 883 703 to place your order.

The device accepts all major cards including Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners and EFTPOS.

The device does all basic functions like swipe, chip and contactless (TapnGo) payments, void, duplicate receipts and running total. The device also features Auto Tipping – an automated tipping screen that allows the passenger to select from 4 pre-determined amounts or skip. This feature can earn you up to 20% more! We also have the ability to customise some functions depending on your needs. Transaction speed and login/log off times are some of the best in the industry and with a long battery life; you have a device you can rely on!

You simply return it to us along with chargers to: Live TaxiEpay, Reply Paid 604, North Melbourne VIC 3051 (this is a free service). Please request a tracking number from the post office (may cost a few dollars) and send this to us via email to support@livetaxie.com.au. You can also drop the device off at your local Live taxi.

Sign up process

Call us on 1300 883 703, alternatively head straight to the online application form which requires some basic information. If you’d rather see us in person please visit your local Live taxi office where we have devices ready to go. The sign up process is super quick and easy just bring your bank account details and ID.

There is a one-off insurance charge of $49.95 that will be taken from your first payment. This may be waived in some cases please call 1300 883 703.

Changing details

For security purposes we will require you to visit us or provide the new details in writing (email is preferable to support@livetaxi.com.au). Make sure you include your contact information and Terminal ID along with the new details.

My payments and reports

You can select from cash or bank deposits. To receive cash simply bring in your end of shift receipts to participating sites. We receive your transactions for payment once you have completed an “end of shift” on your device (press “shift” then “enter”). Make sure the batch status reads “uploaded”; if it reads “closed” you will need to try again until you get a successful upload. For bank payments – transactions between Wednesday 3pm and Sunday 3pm are paid overnight Tuesday. Those between Sunday 3pm and Wednesday 3pm are paid overnight Friday. Daily payments are also available! Please specify this at time of sign up.

Check that it hasn’t ended up in your junk folder and make sure you add Live taxi as a “safe sender” – this will ensure our emails don’t end up in your spam folder. Your reports are also accessible via My Web – register here.

Yes! Register for My Web in just a few clicks. You’ll need your Terminal ID (this can be found on your receipts and reports).

Troubleshooting

We recommend doing an end of shift and switching off your device daily. This helps the device to operate at its full potential. Many issues can be resolved simply by restarting your machine (hold down the red button to switch off, green button to switch on). You should have been provided with a user guide however if you require further assistance call 1300 883 703 or email support@livetaxi.com.au.

The username and password was created by you at time of registration and emailed to you. If you can’t remember your password you can reset it from the login screen. Still having problems? Call 1300 883 703.
