The Terminal

Terminal maintenance is important to ensure that your Live taxi terminal remains in optimal working condition.

Below are some tips for looking after your terminal:

  • Ensure you always use a soft cloth when cleaning the terminal’s surface and keys.
  • Ensure your terminal is on charge and has over 40% battery at the time of automatic settlement.
  • Ensure your terminal is on charge when it is not being used.
  • Ensure the current software version is 3.1.2.
  • Do not remove screen protector, brand stickers or barcode label from the terminal.
  • Do not remove the battery or SIM card unless receiving assistance from Live taxi support.
  • Do not de-face the terminal with white out, sticky tape, stickers, velcro or permanent marker.

The Live taxi terminal accepts all major cards including Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners and EFTPOS.

Unfortunately, Live taxi terminals do not offer the ability to process MOTO transactions.

The terminal does all basic functions like swipe, chip and contactless (TapnGo) payments, void, duplicate receipts and running total. The terminal also features Auto Tipping – an automated tipping screen that allows the passenger to select from 4 pre-determined amounts or skip. This feature can earn you up to 20% more! We also have the ability to customise some functions depending on your needs. Transaction speed and login/log off times are some of the best in the industry and with a long battery life; you have a terminal you can rely on!

The Live taxi user guide is available on our website here.

Paper rolls are completely free of charge and can be ordered directly from your terminal or by contacting support@livetaxi.com.au. Rolls can also be collected over the counter at a Live taxi lounge.

Troubleshooting

We recommend doing an end of shift and switching off your terminal daily. This helps the terminal to operate at its full potential. Many issues can be resolved simply by restarting your machine (hold down the red button to switch off, green button to switch on). You should have been provided with a user guide however if you require further assistance call 1300 883 703 or email support@livetaxi.com.au.

You can log in to MyWeb here. If you can’t remember your MyWeb password, you can reset it from the login screen.

If you continue to have an issue logging in contact support on 1300 883 703 or email support@livetaxi.com.au

Check to see if there is battery life and a signal. This is essential to check as a low signal can directly relate to battery level. If the battery is low, it needs to be charged before the signal can be regained.

If the battery is full but there is still no signal, restart the terminal.

If you are still experiencing issues, please contact support@livetaxi.com.au or call 1300 883 703.

The Live taxi terminal is just like a computer or a phone, sometimes they just freeze up! A good way to prevent this is by turning the terminal off when not in use, restarting it every day or at least every couple of days.

To reboot your terminal, follow the steps below:

  • Disconnect the terminal from the charger
  • Hold down the red button until the terminal switches off
  • Wait 10 seconds
  • Hold down the green button to switch the terminal back on
  • The terminal will now switch back on and should be working again

For further assistance, please contact us on 1300 883 703 during support hours (8 AM – 11 PM Monday to Friday and 9 AM -10 PM Saturday to Sunday) or email support@livetaxi.com.au

At the top right of the screen, check if there is a plug icon inside of the battery icon. If there is no icon, try another power point and/ or different micro-USB charger. If there is an icon, disconnect the power from the terminal. If the terminal powers off instantly, this indicates that the connection to the battery may be loose.

Follow the instructions below:

  • Remove the battery from the back of the terminal by opening the screw in the middle of the back plate
  • The battery is a blue cylinder, pull out the battery and you will then see three wires connected to a white plug
  • Disconnect the battery by removing the white plug (note it can be a little tough to disconnect the white plug)
  • After 15 seconds, reconnect the battery and attach the back plate
  • Turn on the terminal by holding the green button down for 7 seconds

If the terminal is still not charging, call support on 1300 883 703 or email us at support@livetaxi.com.au

To reboot your terminal, follow the instructions below:

  • Disconnect the terminal from the power source (charging base or micro USB cable)
  • Hold down the red button until the terminal switches off
  • Wait 10 seconds
  • Hold down the green button to switch the terminal back on
  • The terminal will now switch back on and begin loading
  • You can now reconnect the terminal to the power source

If you are experiencing any issues with your terminal, please call us on 1300 883 703.

Slow transaction speeds can occur for various reasons with two of the most common being low signal strength and low battery.

Reboot your terminal by holding down the red ‘X’ to turn off and the green ‘Arrow’ to turn back on.

If the problem continues, please call us on 1300 883 703 or email us at support@livetaxi.com.au
